Kurset gir kursdeltakerne kunnskap om ARL's funksjon og rolle, effektiv kommunikasjon, innholdet i situasjonsrapporter og observasjonsteknikker. Deltakerne lærer også hvordan man slokker mindre branntilløp, samt å utføre livreddende førstehjelp.

Kurset er i hovedsak basert på praktiske øvelser i slukking av brann, bruk av utstyr, slukkemetoder og førstehjelp.

Kurset dokumenterer at skipsoffiserer (dekk og maskin) har gjennomført godkjent oppdateringskurs (IMO80) minst hvert femte år.

Kurset oppgrader personell med Grunnleggende sikkerhetskurs for Norsk Olje og Gass (Offshore) til STCW Grunnleggende sikkerhetsopplæring for sjøfolk. Kurset inneholder brannvern, røykdykking, brannslokking, sjøredning, grunnleggende førstehjelp og personlig sikkerhet og omsorg for menneskeliv og miljø. Kurset er godkjent etter IMO regelverket og gjelder hele verden.

Presentation 

This training course describes the inclining test and lightweight measurement procedures. Inclining test is a test performed on a ship to determine her stability, lightship weight and the coordinates of her centre of gravity. The test is applied to newly constructed ships greater than 24 metres in length, and to ships altered in ways that could affect stability.

Presentation

This training course covers the requirements of SOLAS Convention concerning the safety equipment of cargo ships. It includes the documentation required on board, life-saving appliances, firefighting equipment, the safety of navigation, safety equipment in general and additional requirements for tankers.

Objectives

On completion of the training, students will be able to:

Know the documentation required to be available on board and understand the requirements of the STCW Convention for safe manning crew members. 

Understand the requirements concerning personal life-saving appliances, survival crafts, rescue boats, and launching and recovery arrangements.

Understand the requirements for fire protection, fire detection and fire extinguishing systems, and get familiar with the specific requirements for the carriage of dangerous goods.

Know what are the navigational equipment and appliances required to ensure the safety of navigation and get familiar with other safety equipment required on board.

Understand the additional requirements applicable for tankers and get familiar with inert gas systems

Dette kurset vil gi fremtidige kranførere en god teoretisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av offshorekran. Opplæringen gir kandidatene god innsikt i prinsippene for offshorekraners konstruksjon, virkemåte, vedlikehold og bruk slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med løfteoperasjoner unngås. Opplæringen dekker den teoretiske sikkerhetsopplæringen som kreves for G5 offshorekran, samt G20 fastmontert hydraulisk kran. Kurset avsluttes med en skriftlig teoretisk prøve. Når opplært person har bestått teoretisk prøve, samt eksamen for anhukere med tillegg av praktisk kjøreprøve på offshorekran, vil dette være grunnlag for utstedelse av kompetansebevis for fører av G5 offshorekran.

When an employer after a risk assessment finds that the work equipment requires special care during use, only employees who have documented safety training according to §10-2 §10-2 can be used. Requirements for documented safety training when using work equipment

Anyone who is to use work equipment as mentioned in §10-1 and §10-3, must have practical and theoretical training that provides knowledge of construction, operation, use properties and area of use, as well as maintenance and control.

McKinsey’s 7-S model was created by McKinsey consultants Robert Waterman, Tom Peters, Richard Pascale, and Anthony Athos. It provides a framework to plan and execute mid-term organizational change. It is based on the premise that organizations perform properly when seven key elements are aligned. 

The seven key elements are structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff, and shared values. The model is most often used as an organizational analysis tool to assess and monitor changes in the internal situation of an organization.

Whether you’re publicly challenging long-held beliefs or experimenting with a new idea, it’s normal to experience fear or discomfort. It may seem ironic, but when you instill a continuous learning culture and growth mindset in your organization, failure can actually lead to success.

One of the key responsibilities of a leader is to assess team members on a regular basis. These might include post-project reviews, annual or quarterly performance evaluations, and in-the-moment feedback.  

Organizations use different parameters and tools to assess their employees. The assessments used are based on functional goals, developmental goals, innovation goals, stretch goals, or any other goals customized to the organizational needs. Irrespective of the tools you use, when it is time to assess your employees, do you rely on the data or by your perception of the person?  

As fair and factual as you believe your assessments are, you might actually be guilty of some “rater biases” that can skew your evaluations. 

• Assess if you are too lenient or halo in your evaluations 

• Find whether your evaluations are based on recency or similarity 

• Examine if you are driven by contrast or negative bias 

• Identify the central tendency and employ a technique to be objective during your evaluations

Coaching is a process, which the leaders use to help employees become more independent. There are many coaching programs available to managers these days. But the good leaders implement The COACH Model in coordination with a coaching philosophy that includes mentoring, constant two-way communication, and continuous feedback. The COACH Model is a five-step program that walks a leader through the process of coaching an associate from setting a goal to measuring their success at the end of the process.

Standard NS-EN 1591-4 sets requirements for maintenance of competence. If there has been a stay with work on flanged connections for six months or more, a new refresher course must be completed in order to continue to have valid approval. We offer a separate course for those who do not get enough practice (within 6 months) to maintain the approval. The aim is to provide the participant with sufficient theory and practice to continue to be able to perform flange work in accordance with current requirements. Objective: The purpose of the course is to provide forklift drivers with a good theoretical basic training in the safe use of forklifts, so that accidents in connection with forklift driving are avoided.

The course is primarily aimed at future users of forklifts. But anyone who is involved with cargo handling and forklifts in risk analysis and work management can also benefit from the course.

The course is conducted with Norwegian-language teachers and teaching materials in accordance with legislation and regulations, as well as recognized curricula for module-based training.

The forklift driver training consists of four modules:

- Module 1.1 working environment, responsibilities and consequences. *
- Module 2.2 G4 bridge and overhead crane
- Module 3.2 Basic practical training forklift 
- Module 4.2 Practical driving training forklift
- Practical Final test in each forklift type T1-T4

* Module 1.1 is common to machine, forklift and crane. If you can document that you have module 1.1 from before that is not older than 3 years, let us know.

Module 4.2 can be completed in a company using a sponsorship arrangement. If you do not have the opportunity to do so, you can participate in one of STQ's practice courses.
