Course Goal:
This course aims to provide personnel with an overview of US best practice in relation to the different types of respiratory protection used in the workplace.
Learning Objectives:
LO1 Explain what is meant by Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE)
LO2 Give an overview of the relevant regulations governing the use of RPE
LO3 Identify the different types of RPE
LO4 Explain the requirements for respirator fit testing
LO5 Describe the importance of filters when using RPE
LO6 Demonstrate how to correctly select RPE
LO7 Describe the factors to consider when wearing RPE
LO8 Explain the importance of correctly maintaining, cleaning, storing and inspecting RPE
